“MI Friends and MI Community:  How MI Friends Promote the Library”

SYNOPSIS: 2014 is a mid-term election year which for many libraries is a time to seek new or continuing funding through millage campaigns. Friends of Libraries groups can play key roles in millage campaigns. The first part of this workshop deals with how to assess what action is and is not allowable for non-profit groups and how to get the message out to your community. Table discussions and networking is followed by a presentation from the Archives of Michigan. The workshop concludes with a tour of the Cascade Township Branch Library.
