Be part of Michigan’s Friends of the Library support network.

Friends of Michigan Libraries (FOML) connects you to a powerful statewide network of other Friends groups dedicated to supporting and strengthening Michigan’s libraries. Whether you’re part of an established Friends group or a new organization finding its footing, FOML membership provides the tools, resources, access to grants, and community you need to make a difference.

 

Membership Benefits

All memberships are eligible for the following benefits:

  • A variety of networking connections to other Friends groups in Michigan;
  • Access to the FOML Member Manual (online publication that can answer many of your questions about establishing and operating a Friends group);
  • The opportunity to participate in FOML workshops (in person or virtually) at low member rates;
  • Opportunities to promote your group’s achievements on our website’s Friendeavors page;
  • The receipt of timely and useful information through our newsletter and email communications that can assist you in your mission;
  • Eligibility for the Harriet Larson Founders Award and the annual FOML Award of Merit;
  • Assistance (upon request) from a FOML Board member to answer questions, resolve concerns, and do strategic planning for your group;
  • An opportunity to become a member of the FOML Board and work toward the improvement of Friends’ services;

Group Membership

The Group Membership fee is $50 annually. This membership level gives everyone in your group access to the services, grants and tools offered by FOML.

Individual Membership

Your personal membership is a vote of confidence that helps support FOML’s development of services to Friends groups across the state of Michigan.
