Hello Michigan Friends!
I am so glad that you have found the Friends of Michigan Libraries. My name is Jill Sodt and I have been a member of the Friends of Michigan Libraries for many years, serving as a Board Member and now as your President.
Michigan libraries are facing challenging times as groups from inside and outside their communities are challenging the books they have on their shelves, the displays the create, and programs they put on. Friends groups play an important role in supporting their local libraries and in helping to educate the greater public about the value of libraries in providing free and equitable access to information in many formats.
The mission of the Friends of Michigan Libraries is to help local Friends organizations by sharing information, providing opportunities to learn from each other, and offering support and answers when groups need help. We hope that you will join us for a Talk About Friends, follow the FOML Facebook page where we feature Friends groups around the state, or read our monthly Focus on Friends e-newsletter.
